Tom Donohue, the 10th most powerful man in Washington according to GQ, joined the chorus of voices critical of the move. The decision, which had the appearance of being politically motivated, represented yet another example of how the business of Washington has impeded on the business of America. The result, experts say, amounted to a missed opportunity for much needed job creation. This sentiment was captured in the Chamber’s Quarterly Small Business Outlook Survey, which found that the overwhelming majority of small businesses think the country’s economy is on the wrong track, blame Washington for their plight, and want Congress to get out of the way.
