How many people can I have on my team?
Tour teams are limited to two people who must apply together.
Will my expenses be covered?
Yes. The selected team’s expenses, including hotel, meals, and fuel, will be covered by the Chamber.
Am I expected to use my own vehicle?
No. A vehicle will be provided for the selected team’s use during the tour.
Where will the tour guides travel?
The road trip will take the tour guides to 15 American cities, but the specific destinations are a secret. Only the selected team will know its next destination!
What will a typical day be like?
There is no typical day! The details of each stop are still being planned, but the selected team can expect to do anything from interview the owner of a craft brewery to visit a historic monument. Each location will be a little different, but every stop will show the value of free enterprise.
What do I need to know before I apply?
There are three things that you should do before applying:
1. Read the terms and conditions to verify your eligibility.
2. Verify that you and your teammate are available from June to early August for the tour.
3. Understand that you and your teammate will be required to come to Washington, DC for training during a week of your choice in May.
What content will I be producing?
By the end of the tour, you will have a robust portfolio of work. In addition to daily blog posts for FreeEnterprise.com, you will create videos, photos, and social media posts to help the online audience share in your experiences.
Will I have support on the road?
Yes. Chamber staff will receive you at tour locations and you will have a Chamber staff member who will be your point of contact to support you 7 days a week.
Will I be able to pick the route?
The Chamber will be setting the route and the schedule. The selected team may have an opportunity to weigh in on the agenda where appropriate.
Are there days off?
There will be one rest day a week on the agenda, along with downtime each day. You are expected to be available for the duration of the tour—June to early August (the tour will wrap up no later than August 9.
Can I bring my pet?
Fido is cute, but he will have to stay home.
Will we have GPS?
You will be fully equipped with directions and GPS for your trip.
