Looking at my Google Map is deceptive. I’ve set a marker for each of the cities I’ll be visiting this summer for Free Enterprise, and as I sit back and review my neatly drawn routes, I already feel some strange sense of accomplishment, despite having actually accomplished nothing for small businesses beyond the $2.50 I just invested in this coffee shop. In other words: I haven’t done anything yet.

This June, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will launch “On the Road With Free Enterprise,” a two-month cross-country road trip to promote the principles of free enterprise and the best of America. Your Free Enterprise Tour Guides will see the sights, check out local events, talk to businesses, and share it all with you on FreeEnterprise.com.

For the last two months, the "On the Road With Free Enterprise" team has been poring over 900 applications for the Best Summer Job in America. The teams applying to be our Free Enterprise Tour Guides shared their experiences, their unique qualifications, and their humor. We thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the applications and, unfortunately, we don't have a bus to bring more applicants on tour.
