Armed environmental police shut down a popular ice cream stand at the Great Brook Farm State Park in Carlisle, Massachusetts, and stood guard to ensure that customers were turned away. The officers claimed that stand operator Mark Duffy had failed to secure construction permits to make improvements to the stand. Duffy says that he has never been required to get permits to make improvements in his 26 years of leasing the stand.
