Regulations Would Put Dog Walkers on Short Leash

A measure before the San Francisco Board of Supervisors would cap the number of dogs the city’s approximately 500 professional dog walkers can walk in a city park at any given time to eight, plus one personal dog. The proposal also mandates that dog walkers undergo training, have safe vehicles for transporting animals, carry liability insurance, and obtain a $250 permit to be renewed annually for $100.
