Fear of the impending “fiscal cliff” crisis, which would impose about $600 billion in automatic spending cuts as well as tax increases on the economy in 2013, is beginning to creep up months before the December 31st deadline.
Lawmakers need to move quickly to avoid going over the edge. To engage the public, the U.S. Chamber launched a new website featuring a clock counting down to the December 31st deadline. The site also includes tools for the public to calculate their potential new tax rates should important provisions expire, contact their members of Congress, and stay up-to-date with daily news clips and resources.
