The U.S. Chamber's Hiring Our Heroes initiative honored at the Clinton Global Initiative meeting in Chicago.

Former President Bill Clinton today praised the U.S. Chamber's Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Hiring Our Heroes recently joined with the entertainment industry as part of the new veterans initiative, Got Your 6™. The campaign brings together an unprecedented group of supporters, including nearly every major studio, broadcast and cable network, talent agency, and guild in the entertainment industry.

Speaking at the eponymous Clinton Global Intiative in Chicago, the former president said:

Yesterday the U.S. Chamber of Commerce held a job fair for Iraq and Afghan veterans here in Chicago.  GotYour6 and its partners aim to directly impact the lives of 1.3 million veterans and their families by the end of 2014.  If they get 500,000 veterans and their spouses jobs, and train and place in the workforce 100,000 health professionals, they will have a major impact.  And if we can keep  groups like the Chamber of Commerce involved they may do even more.  So I want to encourage all of you here who care about this issue to consider lending your support, especially to the non-profits.  Let’s give them a big hand.  It’s great.
