Clean Energy Incentives Attract Business
Gov. Ernie Fletcher (R) signed a bill providing tax incentives for alternative fuel projects, money for energy research, and measures to improve energy efficiency in the state government and small businesses. Governor Backs Business Incentives
Gov. Matt Blunt (R) signed into law an economic development bill that will expand 23 types of business subsidies, modify 4 others, and create 3 new ones. The new plan, passed during a special session, will cost $66 million a year.  Source: The Kansas City Star

Law Bans Advertising Fliers
Businesses that drop their advertisements at buildings that post signs saying that fliers are prohibited could face fines between $250 and $1,000 per violation. Sponsors of the new law say the fliers create litter and are a safety hazard.  Source: Newsday
