On December 1, the U.S. Chamber’s Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) recognized exemplary businesses for their efforts to build better communities.

BCLC presented the following 2009 Corporate Citizenship Awards:

U.S. Community Service Award—UPS for its teen safe driving program.
International Community Service Award—Abbott Fund for its HIV testing and treatment program in Tanzania.
Corporate Stewardship Award—Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. for its hunger relief and student scholarship programs.
Partnership Award—Chevron Corporation and the Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership for establishing learning centers in underserved schools in developing countries.
