The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) was intended to lower health care costs and expand coverage. However, an unintended consequence we’ve discovered is that education may be hurt by the law. The Indianapolis Star reports on the fiscal troubles the health care law has created for local school districts:

The credit rating agency downgraded the United States from its AAA bond rating in 2011.
