Tomorrow, the U.S. and Manhattan Chambers of Commerce will be co-hosting Hiring Our Heroes - Manhattan at a stunning location: alongside The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum.

Employers attending the job fair represent all industries and want to talk with interested veterans and their spouses about immediate job openings.

Kevin Schmiegel, a 20-year Marine veteran and Vice President of the U.S. Chamber's Veterans Employment Program, has done more than a dozen media interviews nationwide today to promote the event. As he told WNYC radio about tomorrow's event:

The U.S. Chamber is excited to bring over 100 employers with job opportunities across all industries and sectors to New York City, where there are thousands of talented veterans seeking employment. This hiring fair is a perfect example of the public and private sectors working together in a coordinated way to make a difference for veterans and their families in local communities where they are returning every day.

At the same time as the job fair, Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS) will be holding a conference where participants will learn about other veterans working on Wall Street and the veteran-friendly financial services industry.

Hiring Our Heroes is the Chamber's effort to help veterans and their spouses find jobs. Through our network of state and local chambers, we are helping the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and other strategic partners connect veterans and their spouses with private sector employers.
