President Obama and VP Biden will host the House Democratic leadership at the White House this morning to talk about debt limit negotiations which have either gone nowhere or made progress depending who you talk to. Meanwhile, there are reports that the talks grew more contentious yesterday as Democrats and Republicans became increasingly entrenched on key issues. Meanwhile, the Chamber hosts its biggest hiring fair to date today at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in New York, as it teams up with Veterans on Wall Street to connect more than a thousand veterans to some of the nation’s largest banks. Bank of America, Citi, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, and Goldman Sachs are working with the Chamber and the Department of Labor for today’s event. In the lead up to the fair, VP of Veteran Affairs Kevin Schmiegel is on a media blitz having held a dozen radio interviews yesterday with scheduled appearances today on Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends (6:30 a.m.), Fox Business (11:20 a.m.), and MSNBC’s News Nation (2 p.m. hour).
