As first reported by the Wall Street Journal, and now widely discussed, the Chamber will host President Obama on February 7.  We look forward to this discussion about jobs and the economy. This remains the top priority of the Chamber and the business community, and we’re committed to working together to put Americans back to work.
 
Much has been made about the Chamber’s relationship with the White House, but as Tom Donohue wrote to then President-elect Obama in November 2008 (PDF), our discussions will always be based on policy issues. As Tom said, "We’ll agree on many issues and disagree on others, but our approach will always be based on our principles and our responsibility to vigorously represent our membership and always with the highest respect for the office you will soon hold."
