Last month we published the East Regional winners of the prestigious "America’s Transportation Award." (ATA). The transportation projects were judged according to their size in three categories; "Innovative management," "On Time" and "On Budget" construction. The ATA’s purpose is to raise awareness of the extraordinary transportation system we have in America and to demonstrate its vital link to travel, tourism and the many business that are tied to the transportation industry.
Yesterday transportation projects from the Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (WASHTO) region were honored. Combined with the Midwest Region winners announced July 8th, only the South Region remains. In light of all of the bad infrastructure news we seem to receive on a daily basis (we need to rebuild America); I thought it would be nice to take a moment to recognize those who are doing it right.
